Charitable Giving
Mingara Relay
for Life 2008 - October 25th -26th
Robson Consulting Group team members, their family
and friends together with the company raised over
$2,000 for this worthwhile cause – go team.
Note from the partners:-
It
was gratifying to see the whole team support this
event with attendance at Mingara on the day.
From the company prospective we recognise the
importance of supporting and encouraging our team in
the pursuit of these very worthwhile community
endeavors.
It
creates a sense of community spirit at a personal
and team level and this resonates entirely with our
work life balance.
Children’s Cancer
Institute of Australia (CCIA)
Congratulations to our every day hero Debbie
Bloffwitch.
Debbie completed the Canberra Marathon (a distance
of
42.2 kilometres)
on Sunday 13th April 2008 in three hours and thirty
minutes.
Debbie also holds the proud title of highest
personal sponsorship fundraiser after gathering a
whopping $4,960.00 in donations from family,
friends, workmates and clients. Debbie’s original
target was $2,000 which was surpassed well before
the end of March. Debbie was awarded with an MP3
player which she intends to donate to this year’s
Relay for Life.
The Robson team is proud of Debbie’s wonderful
achievement and was happy to support Debbie both
before and after her amazing run.
Debbie
received a lovely surprise the following Tuesday
when a remedial masseuse was brought into the office
from ‘Back in Harmony’ by the Robson partners. Ross
from ‘Back in Harmony’ provided Debbie with a much
needed one hour massage to relieve those poor
overworked, tired muscles.
Details of Debbie’s wonderful fundraising efforts

Congratulations Debbie!
Central Coast
Community
Chest
Central Coast
Community Chest is a volunteer based non-profit
organisation that has served the Central Coast since
1980, supporting over 85 local charities working at
the grass roots level in areas of Children,
Families, Disabilities, Youth, Welfare and The Aged.
100% of funds raised stay on the Central Coast;
supporting Community Chest’s founding principle
“Give Where You Live”. Funds are raised through
Donations, Events and Community Chest’s Workplace
Giving Program, whereby employees have the
opportunity to donate a small amount each pay to
benefit those in need in on the Central Coast.
Robson Consulting Group has shown its support for
the Community Chest for many years. Team members
have contributed to the Workplace Giving Program
through the $1 per week payroll deduction scheme as
well as various fundraising events including ‘Boss
Buys Breakfast’, ‘Community Chest Golf Day’ and
‘Blues Bros Ball’ just to name a few. On behalf of
Robson Consulting Group, David Robson has also
actively been involved with the Community Chest,
being a member of the Board of Directors and auditor
for many years.
Robson’s have been associated with Community Chest
for over 20 years and believe that they can and do
make a difference in our community which is why we
chose to be a part of Community Chest’s “Give Where
You Live” charity program.
Caring for our
Team - Work / Life Balance
Robson Consulting Group strongly believe in a
work and lifestyle balance.
To
aid with this balance and to ensure that all
staff members enjoy improved health and
wellbeing, RCG have arranged for Medimobile to
attend our offices on an ongoing yearly basis to
supply every member of staff with a flu
vaccination injection.
This action
will result in reducing the spread of influenza
within the office and allow our staff members to
enjoy good health while at work and during their
leisure time.
Fun with Our Team
At the end of each
financial year formally known as our “Mid Year
Retreat” as well as at Christmas time we all get
together as a team to enjoy some competitive fun.
Mariners BBQ – Feb
2008
Following the Mariners
remarkable come back in the second leg of the major
grand final, winning 3-0 and claiming a grand final
berth, Robson Consulting Group got right behind the
local boys. The whole office was involved with desk
decorations, daily quizzes, mufti day and our
Mariners Friday barbeque. On the Friday afternoon
before the grand final we put down the tools and
celebrated the Mariners success and discussed the
tactics for the upcoming decider. Although the
result didn’t go our way (clearly it was a handball)
it was great to be able to bond as a team to support
the local boys.

2007 Mid Year Retreat
The 2007 retreat was
memorable for all involved. The day was spent at
Glenworth Valley where we were first given a pep
talk on how to deliver the 101% to your clients,
followed by a BBQ lunch and then a guided horse ride
through the valley. Shortly after, we were broken
off into our three teams to combat each other in the
annual grudge challenge. This year it was laser
skirmish. The first skirmish event comprised each
team combating against the other two teams or
shooting whichever partner had his head up the
highest. The second skirmish assignment was for a
team to successfully maneuver their VIP through the
lines of the two defending teams (without dying) to
capture the defending flag. Team Nic succeeded by
using a ruse and diversion tactic, Team Robbo
succeeded by having their VIP convince everyone she
was already dead, whilst Team Devo failed. Team Nic
were finally hailed as the days champions. The day
was concluded at Gosford Hotel where all enjoyed
dinner & drinks, and where stories were retold and
feats exaggerated on the days events.

2006 Christmas Party
For our Christmas
party we all split into 3 teams, Team Devo, Team
Robbo and Team Nicco to participate in some
competitive games. In the teams we had to come up
with most wacky dress ups. Then together we sat back
and took the time to reflect on the prior year, and
to focus on what we all plan to achieve in the year
ahead, presented a few comical awards then tucked
into a divine lunch. We then headed off to Wyoming
Bowling Ally (still dressed up in our outfits) to
battle for the “Champion” title. Sparks were flying
as all three teams went head to head to prove that
they were the best. In the end, the numbers were
tallied and Team Devo were pronounced the
“Champions” and presented with a trophy. The night
continued at the Elanora Hotel where staff along
with their partners relaxed and enjoyed the
evening.
2006 Mid Year Retreat
Our 2006 “Mid Year
Retreat” consisted of a karaoke singing bus ride to
Sydney, a very informative seminar presented by BT,
followed by an adrenaline pumping jet boat ride on
Sydney Harbour and concluding with an elegant dinner
at the Orient at the Rocks. Waking up the next day
hardly being able to lift a leg or an arm then
realising the strains must have been from everyone
enjoying themselves dancing the night away was
definitely the icing on the cake.

Learning with
Our Team
Training & Development
At RCG we combine the
disciplines of financial planning and business
development with the more traditional accounting
concepts of taxation and audit compliance. In a
dynamic and ever changing business world, effort is
required to maintain the level of expertise required
by professionals in the above fields. It
requires a significant commitment to training by the
practice partners and by the entire team. To ensure
that RCG remains at the cutting edge of business and
investment solutions, we conduct regular internal
and external training events for staff – including:
ü
monthly external tax seminars,
ü
taxation and business development conferences,
ü
internal staff training,
ü
fortnightly client service managers instruction,
ü
financial services annual conference,
ü
technical seminar days and
ü
financial services mini conferences (2 per year).
The commitment to
technical and professional learning is shared
throughout the organisation. We also address
employee’s needs on a more personal level.
This may include developing team building skills,
training in concepts of time management,
organisational leadership, work flow management and
client service principles.
