At the end of each financial year formally known as our "Mid Year Retreat" as well as at Christmas time we all get together as a team to enjoy some competitive fun.

Robson Partners in the Community - #nvw2019

Donate and participate! That is our commitment to the community of the Central Coast, and that is exactly what we did on Friday 24 May as part of National Volunteer Week.

21 staff members turned off their computers to partner with Coast Shelter in a backyard blitz effort for two youth refuges on the Central Coast. Our hope was to brighten up the outdoor area so the residents could find a quiet space to relax and clear their minds, or a communal place for social connection.

The team dirtied their hands removing weeds, constructing hammocks, creating organic compost bins and veggie gardens to complement the household cooking, top-soling the lawns and planting a variety of fruit trees and plants to brighten up the shared spaces.

The Count Charitable Foundation is an important supporter and enabler of our Robson Partners community program and came to the party with $5,000 to cover the cost of the blitz for Coast Shelter.

David Evers, Robson Partners Managing Director was thrilled with how the day came together.

“Our volunteer day was an awesome show of collaboration between the Count Charitable Foundation, the generous people that make up our team at Robsons, and the dedicated staff at Coast Shelter. The young people supported by Coast Shelter are doing it tough, and if our backyard blitz has helped them to get outside and enjoy a bit of nature, then that’s a good thing,” said David.

Coast Shelter’s Refuge Program Manager, Peter Downie said: “The team were able to get a significant amount of work done that we just can’t always get to when we’re here with the young people. They achieved more in three hours than we have in six years working on the yard. We rely on corporate volunteers and donors like Robsons to help us achieve more than just the necessities. We want the young people to feel at home when they come to us, and a thriving backyard is helpful in achieving that.”

National Volunteer Week encouraged many community events and celebrated the countless valuable volunteers who donate their time throughout the year.

Cruise on the Haweksbury River

We celebrated the end of yet another successful financial year by cruising aboard the "Saratoga" from Gosford Waterfront and up the Haweksbury River to the Berowra Waters Inn where we enjoyed a 4 course degustation lunch overlooking the beautiful scenery. Mother nature was kind enough to bring a sunny day and warmer weather, allowing for perfect cruising conditions!

 Troy's Trivia

The Robson Partners staff celebrated the end of the 2015 year with a scrumptious Christmas lunch at Joseph's Coat in Terrigal followed by an afternoon of Trivia hosted by our very own Troy Marchant.  Team "Frosty the Snowman and the Three Wise Women" blitzed the field, with "Frosty" (Kyle Frost from the Financial Services team), and the three wise women (Debbie Bloffwitch, Ros Mitchell and Louise Purves) correctly answering the majority of the questions!

Operation Blackhawk

The Battlefield Challenge is 7km's long with over 40 obstacles. David Evers, Troy Marchant, Cherie Tracey, Nikki Schumacher, Cassie Kennedy, Nick Humphreys and Paige Thompson from the Robson Partners team, together with friend of the company, La Verne Lanning, willingly participated in the genuine military themed obstacle course which proved to be a lot of fun and a real physical challenge!

Lawn Bowls

The 2014 year end function for the Robson Partners staff included some team training before heading off to the Terrigal Bowls Club for some challenging games of barefoot lawn bowling.

Julie's Place

The team began their day with some team training in the Robson Partners boardroom before heading setting off to sharpen our knives and prepare to learn the secrets of gourmet cooking at "Julie's Place", cooking school of Australia's first MasterChef winner!

Whilst we weren't ready to take on MasterChef contestants after just one afternoon, the staff at Robson Partners were sufficiently competent at preparing an edible meal that we could all enjoy!

Four teams were selected to "man" the cooking stations - this time it was Team Sarah, Team Hannah, Team Sabrina and Team Paige! Congratulations to Team Sarah and Team Paige on winning the contest!

Dash for Cash

Our 2013 year end function was a fun-filled day spent at the horse races at Gosford Racecourse, supporting the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and the Samaritans which was topped off by the usual Robson announcements and staff awards.

Robson Partners sponsored a race - "Robson Accountants - Dash for Cash" which enabled the Directors to present the winning trainer with their trophy along with some other goodies!

Casino Royale

The team here at Robson Partners started the day off with some interesting and interactive training sessions presented by Matt Hieghway – Class Super, Debbie and Nikki – Robson Partners for a tax update.

We then proceeded to the Elanora Pub for some fun and games - Casino Royale style! Each receiving a chip worth $1000, we tried our luck in winning some big bucks!

We topped off the day with some Robson announcements and staff awards, congratulating Cassie Kennedy on being awarded "Top Gun" for the quarter for her extraordinary efforts and quality she puts into her work.

Minute to Win It

Our 2012 Mid-Year function focused on team building and communication. The team here at Robson Partners rose bright and early, ready to have some fun!

Our day began with a visit to the Colonial First State Building in Darling Harbour where we all participated in three informative sessions. Firstly we heard from Belinda from Colonial First State giving the team an outlook on the current economic market and the challenges and opportunities put before us. Tim Anderson, also from Colonial, followed on from Belinda providing us with an update on upcoming Self-Managed Superannuation Fund changes including tax changes and the new ATO ruling regarding borrowing for investment purposes and the fine line between repairs and improvements. After we broke for lunch we heard from Eric Quak from Russell Investments, who provided the team with some tips and ideas for improving client review meetings.

Now for the fun part - we were then split into our four teams for some challenging Minute to Win It games and trivia, Teams worked together to brainstorm and come up with the best strategy to tackle their challenge, within specified time frames. It was a close call with Team Troy managing to just get their hands on the winnings, taking the title.

We then finished up our day with some company announcements and staff awards. Sarah Davenport, our Client Administration Assistant achieved what we like to call a "Top Gun" award for her hard work and great efforts she brings every day to Robson Partners.

The team then retired downstairs to Stacks Taverna and Bar for a delicious three course dinner, to end the day.
